TONIGHT!
Culture Collide 2013
Sweden Happy Hour – October 11th
We are proud to, once again, co-promote FILTER Magazine’s fourth annual Culture Collide Festival that will return to Los Angeles this October 10-12, bringing 3 days of incredible music, art, film and more to Echo Park. As one of the most buzzed about festivals of the fall season, Culture Collide will welcome performances by some of our favorite international artists listed here.
”Sweden Happy Hour” is a popular feature during the event where fresh Swedish music is presented. The lineup has been slightly revised since last week. Frida Sundemo had to cancel with a short notice and Melpo Mene is taking her place. The Deer Tracks and Like Swimming are performing during the “Sweden Happy Hour” tonight as announced. The Swedish artists will also have their own slots during the festival, so check out the schedule.
Check out what the Swedish press is writing about the event:

The Deer Tracks‘s songs often stride fearlessly into the forest primeval armed with a stuttering beat and a rattling arsenal of percussion. Somehow they blend them all together with other natural found sounds and deliberately lo-fi digital artefacts that add bristles and grit to their relentless melodies.
The music by Like Swimming is made out of acoustic indie pop with an electronic touch, always with the sweetest melodies and rhythms and with a slice of Swedish accent on every word.
The man behind Melpo Mene, Erik Mattiasson, began recording his folky, electronica-tinged songs in the early 2000s. He got recognized by the international audience when “I Adore You,” the lead single from his second studio album was featured in a popular Volvo advertisement.
CESMI 2013 – From Ocean to Shore
October 16-18
We are happy to be part of the inaugural CESMI conference in Los Angeles October 16- 18. CESMI stands for “Creating an Environmentally Sustainable Maritime Industry” and the topics at the conference will range from ocean power and ship design to cargo handling in ports: “Ocean to Shore.”
