Thomas Persson – Founder, Smart Mop/TD Consulting Inc.
Thomas Persson is born and raised in Sweden, came to the USA in 1983; he soon ran out of money and started pitching and demonstrating unique and innovative products, in the fairs and home-shows to support himself.
In 1990 Thomas co-founded Smart Inventions, an infomercial marketing and distribution company. Smart Inventions first product was the Smart Mop, the first super-absorbent twist-mop, which they successfully sold in the home shows and fairs.
On the back of this success – Thomas created an infomercial where he was the pitchman and demonstrator. As soon as the infomercial aired the Smart Mop became an overnight success. Around 15 million units of the Smart Mop were sold worldwide. Many innovative household products followed the success of Smart Mop.
Thomas left Smart Inventions in 1999 taking some time off before setting up TD Consulting Inc. TD Consulting Inc. was the force behind the hit infomercial The Tobi – an in-home garment-steamer that quickly became the #1 selling brand.
Pelle Nilsson – Founding Partner of B-Reel & B-Reel Films.
Pelle Nilsson is the Executive Vice President of B-Reel Group, Managing Director of B- Reel L.A and is furthermore the CEO of B-Reel Films in the North America.
B-Reel is a premium production company offering innovative solutions to agencies and clients with high digital standards. B-Reel Films is a film production company producing award winning TV-commercials and integrated productions.The group currently employs more than 100 people and is owned by the staff. B-Reel has offices in London, New York, Los Angeles and Stockholm.
Since 1999, B-Reel productions have won over 200 awards. In January 2011, Creativity Magazine named B-Reel the Digital Production Company of the Year, describing B-Reel as
“in a league of its own”.
Coming from a Producer background Pelle Nilsson has been working as Head of Production of the B-Reel Group since the start in 1999. He has vast experience in TV-commercial- and Broadcast Production and has been paramount to the company’s hybrid production model that B-Reel is the pioneers in.
Pelle Nilsson started his career at Z-TV when he was 19 years old and started producing his first TV-show when he was 20. After producing numerous TV-shows he started directing and producing music videos and TV-commercials prior to starting B-Reel with Anders Wahlquist and Petter Westlund.
Stina Ehrensvärd – CEO & Founder, Yubico
Stina is an award-winning IT-entrepreneur with proven track record of creating and bringing new innovations to global markets.
In 1999 she co-founded Cypak, developing the world’s first intelligent pharmaceutical packaging. 2007 she founded Yubico; today a fast growing Internet security company with offices in Palo Alto, London and Stockholm. She is educated in Industrial Design, at Royal Technology of Art and Design in Stockholm, Sweden.
Tomas Jegeus – Co-President, Twentieth Century Fox International
Tomas Jegeus has served as Co-President of Twentieth Century Fox International since September 2005. During his tenure, Fox International has enjoyed unprecedented success. In just the first eight months of this year, the overseas distributor has collected a stellar $1.6 billion from a diverse slate of films including BLACK SWAN, RIO and X-MEN: FIRST CLASS.
In 2010, Fox International reaped a massive cume of $2.9 billion, toppling its own previous record set the year before.This achievement stemmed from the extraordinary results of several films over the course of the year, most notably from AVATAR which earned over $2 billion internationally and remains the highest grossing film of all time.
Jegeus has overseen other recent hits among others KNIGHT AND DAY, X-MEN ORIGINS:WOLVERINE, DIE HARD 4.0, BORAT and THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA. Jegeus came to Fox from UIP in London, where he served as Executive Vice President of Marketing from 2002 to 2004. Prior to UIP, he worked in Hong Kong as Vice President of Fox’s Asia/Pacific Marketing division, where he handled the campaigns for such record-breaking hits as THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY and STAR WARS: EPISODE ONE. Jegeus is currently overseeing the distribution and marketing of several highly-anticipated releases including IN TIME, ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS 3,WE BOUGHT A ZOO and THE DARKEST HOUR.
Panel Moderator:
Lotta Alsén – Founder and CEO of Quickenings and President of SACC-GLA.
Lotta Alsén is the founder and CEO of Quickenings, a leadership company that has created several methods for leadership and entrepreneurship, including the licensed trademark methodology CORE in Sweden, originally funded by the EU. Currently,Quickenings is developing a Leadership Computer Game, training the next generation leaders, based on the Quickenings method.
Lotta Alsén has also started and led several businesses, one of them a Venture Capital- funded Internet company, MsFreckles. She has also trained and coached hundreds of leaders and entrepreneurs in growing their businesses and themselves and is apublished author.
She’s the President of SACC-GLA and a board member of SACC-USA as well as the Co-Chapter Leader of 85 Broads, a global women’s leadership organization. She also serves on the European-Americanadvisory council to Sheriff Baca. Finally, she’s an avid yoga and meditation practitioner as well as teacher. Lotta will be the moderator of the panel.
