A Word from the Presidents

Hej alla,

Wow, what an evening !!
The Eliason Merit Award was a huge success and I want to thank our amazing sponsors and partners for making this event happen.  A special thanks also goes out to SACC-LA’s Board Members, Marketing Managers and Volunteers who dedicated their time and passion to help create this spectacular event.

Steve Angello’s musical innovation and his extensive charity work have put Sweden in the international spotlight and we are honored to add Mr. Angello to the list of our brilliant Eliason Merit Award winners.

The idea behind the Eliason Merit Award is to highlight the collaborations between the United States and Sweden in the areas of commerce, culture, science and the arts.  It is therefore great to see how the event itself has become a platform where people from the innovative and creative industries can meet, share ideas and have a wonderful time together.

Next week we will have lots of links to all the press coverage, including more pictures and fun things to share.  In the meantime please enjoy Expressen TV’s interview with the Eliason Merit Award Winner 2013,   Steve Angello.

I am so happy to have shared this very special evening with all of you.

Thank you !!
Gudrun

Eliason Merit Award 2013
Highlights From a Fantastic Event

Steve Angello receiving the award on stage.

Over 700 guests joined us on November 22nd on the W Hollywood Hotel Rooftop to celebrate award winner and birthday boy Steve Angello when he was receiving the Eliason Merit Award 2013.  After the guests arrived and had their photos taken on the red carpet they went up to the rooftop where they could enjoy the open bar, Swedish inspired hors d’oeuvres and a spectacular view over Hollywood.  Since SACC-LA focus on innovation and creativity the guests represented industries such as film, music, television, games, fashion, design, food, advertising/communication and new digital technology.  We are happy to see that the annual Eliason Merit Award Gala has become a hot spot for Swedish-American creative talent.

Steve also received a video greeting on stage from last years winner, Dolph Lundgren.  Dolph congratulated Steve to the award and emphasized on Steve’s charity work through SIZE Foundation.  Dolph finished by saying that he hoped that Steve would have a just as fun night as he had at the previous Eliason gala.

Since November 22nd also happened to be Steve’s birthday the award ceremony ended with everyone in the audience singing the Swedish Happy Birthday song – “Ja må han leva”.

When the doors to the after party opened and DJ MRTN started playing the line of excited after party guests were already long.  After MRTN had warmed up the crowd and Rebecca and Fiona entered the DJ booth, the dance floor was on fire. The headliner, Third Party, started playing around 12.30pm and kept the party going until the early hours.  With free Kanon Organic Vodka and Pistonhead Beer throughout the night, fantastic music and a great crowd of people the success of the after party was a fact.

Successful Silent Auction

The Silent Auction was one of the highlights of the event.  All of the guests were gathering around the lovely displays, talking about and bidding on the amazing items.  We were also very excited to see that some of the items became birthday presents to our award winner, Steve Angello!

Pay It Forward
Co-promoted by SACC-LA

On Monday and Tuesday December 2nd and 3rd, SACC-LA co-promoted the Pay it Forward for Business event together with Your Office Agent and Indiegogo, who launched three crowdfunding campaigns at the 31Ten Lounge in Santa Monica.  The campaigns were mentored by one of the Indiegogo principals and three of the biggest crowdunding PR firms in LA.  The event was watched live by 200 people and their price for entry was a gift for homeless in LA or kids in need.  During the first evening, Jessica Mansourati, one of SACC-LA’s Marketing Managers represented SACC-LA on site.  A big thank you for a great event!
