Special Olympics 2015

In the summer of 2015, Team Sweden arrived in Los Angeles for the Special Olympics World Games – the biggest sporting event of the year in the U.S! SACC-LA was happy to show our support to these incredible athletes by hosting one of our biggest events of 2015, the “Team Sweden Kickoff Party”.
The Special Olympics are held every two years, the previous one being held in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Many young people with disabilities can have difficulties in creating a meaningful leisure which can lead to isolation and other social problems. The foundation of the Special Olympics is to create a forum to interact and have a chance to compete and challenge themselves. Through health and joy, boundaries can be surpassed. This has today grown so much that over four million athletes in over 170 countries are involved in the Special Olympics.
